The challenge of covering every election season is trying to find something different. Sign waving is an integral part of every campaign but few volunteers are as animated as Harry "Boogie-Woogie" Hikita, left, the lone Linda Lingle-James Duke Aiona supporter I found on King Street, who was spinning and dancing about with a hula hoop and cane as he tried to attract the attention of passing motorists amid the sea of Mazie Hirono-Matt Matsunaga campaigners.

I took this shot at a Martin Luther King Celebration at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church near Hickam. I've always enjoyed photographing musicians and entertainers. This time it was the church's choir as its members sang during the commemorative Sunday event. I like the church revival feeling in this shot with the hand and tambourine adding to the composition.
