An Alpine Air plane went down early yesterday morning in waters off Kauai, and the Coast Guard is conducting a search and rescue to see whether the 38-year-old pilot, the sole occupant of the plane, survived. Airplanes from Alpine Air lay on the tarmac at Honolulu Airport yesterday.
