[ PREVIEW ]

Movies opening this week:

Tomorrow

"White Chicks": After messing up a drug bust in New York City, two black FBI agent-brothers (Shawn and Marlon Wayans) try to impress their boss by volunteering to protect two heiresses of a hotel empire from a kidnapping scheme. The brothers use themselves as bait by dressing and appearing as the white girls while the real sisters are hidden safe from harm. Director Keenen Ivory Wayans ("Scary Movie" and "Scary Movie 2") keeps this a family affair. (PG-13)

Friday

"Fahrenheit 9/11": Michael Moore follows his Oscar-winning "Bowling for Columbine" with a critique of the Bush administration's actions in the wake of the 9/11 tragedies, in his signature inflammatory fashion. The documentary also depicts alleged dealings between two generations of the Bush and bin Laden clans that led to George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden becoming mortal enemies. (R)

"The Notebook": Memories of an old love affair are brought back through reading from a forgotten notebook. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams play a passionate couple separated by World War II and reunited years later, and James Garner and Gena Rowlands the older couple who discover the notebook. Directed by Rowlands' son Nick Cassavetes. (PG-13)

"Two Brothers": Just previewed at the Maui Film Festival, the brothers are twin tiger cubs who become separated, one sold to a circus and the other becoming the beloved companion of a southeast Asian governor's son. An accident forces the family to give the tiger away to a man who turns the cat into a fighter for sport. The tigers are reunited as enemies pitted against each other. Guy Pearce ("L.A. Confidential" and "Memento") stars with the big cats. (PG)
