This picture was taken for a business feature called "At Work" which gives readers an opportunity to write about their jobs. For this assignment, I had taken several photos of Curtis at the Crackle Fresh outlet in Laie, but could use only one image for the article. It was hard to choose one and in the end I decided to go with an image that showed his face more clearly. But I liked the feel of this picture better.

Taken on Mother's Day at the Women's Community Correctional Center in Kailua, this picture shows inmate Linda Miyose as she looks upon her daughter Janet (not pictured) while her son, John, stares directly into the camera.
