The months ahead will see major concerts by the Honolulu Symphony, of course (don't miss a towering version of Beethoven's Ninth with the Oahu Choral Society or the return of perennial favorite violinist Sarah Chang). But there are many smaller treats as well, thanks to daring programming by Chamber Music Hawaii (a consortium of three groups composed of moonlighting Honolulu Symphony musicians) and a semi-staged version of a Ravel opera in which a clock, furniture and even the wallpaper come to life, and a raging fire sings a wild aria, only to be drowned out by the cinders.
