The Men of Ka Hanu Lehua, from Maui, performed to "Holo Ana 'O Kalakaua," written in 1874 to document the travels of King David Kalakaua, under the direction of kumu hula Carlson Kamaka Kukona III last night during the kahiko (ancient) portion of the 45th annual Merrie Monarch Festival being held in Hilo. The competition comes to a close tonight with the auana performances and announcement of winners.
