All Believers group holds Being survey
How do you perceive the Being you revere? Could it be the same Being that followers of other religions also revere? The All Believers Network (Belnet) is conducting a one-minute survey (see below) to shed some light on this question.
Your feedback by the end of July will help us tabulate results in a timely manner and share at our third annual symposium on Labor Day weekend, cosponsored by the University of Hawaii Religion Department.
Belnet, a Hawaii-based nonprofit organization, supports the idea that all religions revere the same Being and that we should unite on the basis of this important commonality. Our board has individuals from the following 13 faiths: Baha'i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hawaiian spirituality, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Sikhism, Subud, Sufism, Unitarian Universalism and Zoroastrianism. We hold a 7 p.m. forum on the last Tuesday each month at Harris United Methodist Church, open to the public.
At our symposium, "Exploring Spiritual Commonalities; Savoring Ritual Differences," speakers will explore passages of inclusiveness in their respective sacred texts and discuss how these could become role models guiding human action. The program Sept. 2 and 3 at the UH Art Building auditorium will provide time for the audience to share their views. The $45 cost will include meals. Call 371-9360 to register.
We hope you will take time to complete this simple questionnaire (below). You may complete it on our Web page, www.allbelievers.net; or mail the following copy to Saleem Ahmed, P.O. Box 25155, Honolulu, HI 92625.
Saleem Ahmed is president of the All Believers Network.
