Joe Moore gets George Segal for revival of Mitchell drama

GEORGE SEGAL, a Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee, has joined the cast for the revival of Joe Moore's "Prophecy and Honor" to play at Hawaii Theatre Aug. 16 to 19. The strong cast includes Jimmy MacArthur, Don Stroud, Terence Knapp, Glenn Cannon, Frank DeLima and Dezmond Gilla of L.A. Moore wrote the drama and stars as Gen. Billy Mitchell. Segal portrays Col. Sherman Moreland, the pompous prosecutor in Mitchell's trial. Mitchell dared to defy his superiors as he campaigned to develop U.S. air power. The show is a benefit for the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor, the nonprofit organization presenting the production. Moore's wife, Teresa, makes her stage debut as Mitchell's spouse in the show ...

AARON PLACOURAKIS is flying in from Maui to celebrate his 50th birthday at Aaron's Saturday. His wife, Rhonda, and his partners are throwing him the shindig. Aaron operates Nick's Fishmarket Maui and Sarento's on the Beach, both in Wailea, and Son'z on the Beach at the Hyatt Regency in Kaanapali. I bumped into him at Alan Wong's Pineapple Room a couple of weeks ago when he was in town. He hasn't changed much from the guy who came here from Chicago to manage what was Nicholas Nikolas, now Aaron's, 24 years ago. "Five restaurants and five kids later and here we are celebrating my 50th, where it all began," he said ...

CORKY TRINIDAD FAMILY CELEBRATES 2 BIRTHDAYS

STAR-BULLETIN cartoonist Corky Trinidad turned 68 Saturday and his granddaughter, Kera Ann Nishimura, was 4 on Sunday. Being that Corky is a kid at heart, a birthday party was held for both on Sunday at the Trinidad home. Kera is the daughter of Corky and Hana Trinidad's daughter, Lara, and Lara's husband, Kevin Nishimura. The Trinidad children -- Manny, Anela and Lorenzo -- attended the party. Another daughter, Pia, lives in California with husband, Mike Sprague and son, Matty, 4 ... Richard Kelley's last name was misspelled in last Wednesday's column ...
