Lingle to discuss homeless
Gov. Linda Lingle is expected to meet with faith-based organizations, homeless advocates, community leaders and service providers tomorrow to address the growing homelessness problem along the Leeward Coast. The meeting will be held at Waianae District Park, Multi-Purpose Room, 85-601 Farrington Highway, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Male sought in alleged park restroom assault
Police are looking for a man in his 20s who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman at Keehi Lagoon Park.
At about 11 a.m. Friday, the victim, 39, told police that an unknown male entered the women's restroom, showed a knife and told her to take off her clothes.
Police said as the suspect took off his clothes, the victim grabbed the knife and a struggle occurred.
The victim escaped, running out of the restroom. Police said the suspect fled in a white vehicle.
Police seek to ID man found dead in Makiki
Police are investigating a case involving a man found dead at Makiki District Park.
At about 7:48 p.m. Saturday, police said, the man was found sitting at the park.
Police said there were no signs of foul play. A positive identification has yet to be made on the man, thought to be 50.
The case is pending investigation by the Honolulu Police Department's Homicide Detail.
Head injuries noted on body found in water
Police are investigating a case involving a 32-year-old man who was found Saturday floating face down in waters off Kewalo Basin Park.
Police said the victim was found with unnatural injuries to the side of his head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown at this time whether foul play was involved, police said. It is believed he was an employee with one of the fishing boats docked at Kewalo Basin, but a positive identification has not been made. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.

Kapolei man arrested after officer is hurt
Police arrested a 38-year-old Kapolei man after he allegedly abused his wife and struck a police officer.
At about 3:20 a.m. yesterday, police arrived at a home on the 91-200 block of Puamaomao Place after the victim, 36, told police that her husband had pushed her down. When police told the suspect that he was under arrest, he elbowed an officer in the face, giving him a swollen lip. Police arrested the man on suspicion of assault of a police officer, abuse, harassment and resisting arrest.

Police engage in lively pursuit in Wahiawa
Police arrested a 26-year-old man Saturday
* after he was observed driving recklessly in the Wahiawa area.
Between noon and 1 p.m., a police helicopter directed patrol units to the suspect's exact location when he fled on foot.
Police said the suspect was found hiding inside of a home. Before police located him, the suspect dumped his clothing where drugs and drug paraphernalia were found. Also, police later discovered the vehicle the suspect was driving was reported stolen in a burglary Thursday. After the suspect was treated at Wahiawa General Hospital for injuries he sustained as he was attempting to flee, he attempted to run yet again from officers.
Police apprehended him across the street from the hospital's parking lot. The 26-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of first-degree burglary, auto theft, second-degree attempted escape, reckless driving, first-degree trespassing and drug-related offenses.
