» Josh Green (Hawaii) has signed with the Fullerton (Calif.) Flyers of the Golden Baseball League. He was selected in the dispersal draft held when the Surprise (Ariz.) Fighting Falcons ceased operations.
"Josh is going to be our right fielder," said Flyers general manager Ed Hart. "I've had one call about trading him, but he was third of fourth in the rookie-of-the-year vote last year and we're keeping him."
» Jaziel Mendoza (Hawaii) was the fourth pick in the Frontier League's dispersal draft in December. He was selected by the Chillicothe (Ohio) Paints and has signed for the 2006 season. The outfielder played for the Ohio Valley Redcoats last year, a traveling team that ceased operations for a year while deciding on a permanent home.
» Clary Carlsen (Hawaii) was released at the end of spring training by the Philadelphia Phillies. He is back here to complete his degree in marine biology at the University of Hawaii.
"I had calls from a couple of independent teams, but I thought it was time to move on," Carlsen said.
