Kaneko reaches
today’s match play

ROSWELL, Ga. » Ayaka Kaneko of Honolulu shot a 2-over-par 74 yesterday at the U.S. Women's Amateur to advance to today's first round of match play.
Kaneko's two-day total of 2-over 146 tied her for 15th. In match play today, she faces Ya-Ni Tseng, who beat Michelle Wie last year in the final of the Women's Amateur Public Links.
Mari Chun of Pearl City was the only other Hawaii golfer at this week's event at Ansley Golf Club's Settindown Creek course. She missed the cut, finishing tied for 75th after shooting a 76 yesterday.
Among others advancing yesterday were medalist In-Kyung Kim and fellow 17-year-old Morgan Pressel, who finished fifth in stroke play.
