AND NOW LET'S GET SOME RADIO PLAY!: Producer Jon Yamasato, right, congratulated Round & Round -- Kekoa Young, left, AJ Kumukoa and Nate Mata -- as the trio celebrated the release of their debut album, "Our Fire," with a CD release party for their families, friends and members of the media at the Kona Brewing Co. at Koko Marina on Sunday. The spacious waterfront restaurant proved a perfect venue for the party, and the casual pizza party atmosphere was heightened by the backyard style entertainment provided by the bands' friends. Yamasato did a excellent job producing the album, and the trio's original music shows they have something original to say. Any local radio station that still plays Pure Heart should put Round & Round in high rotation!

IT'S ALL ABOUT LAYERING: Kaleikina Akaka, center, talked fashion with Melanie "Mel" Cambra and Compadres manager Romell Esteves as the Pussycat Junkies party got started at Compadres on Wednesday. Akaka explained that her black and white ensemble was multi-layered.

WELCOME TO THE PARTY!: Pussycat Junkies promoter Flash Hansen clearly had a grip on things as he welcomed Sarah Hunt, left and Lisa Cabalis to Compadres. Pussycat Junkies happens on the last Wednesday of the month and is off to a great start as one the Honolulu's hottest monthly events.
