Kealakehe DE
commits to Weber State
Former Baldwin football coach Chad Kauha'aha'a began making Hawaii recruiting inroads yesterday.
Recently hired as Weber State's defensive line coach, Kauha'aha'a landed Kealakehe senior Bowan Montgomery, Waveriders coach Sam Papali'i said.
Montgomery is a 6-foot-2, 260-pounder who played defensive end, outside linebacker and tight end for Kealakehe. "He played in the Samoa (all-star) game and came back 10 pounds heavier. I think he must've ate 10 pounds worth of palusami," Papali'i said.
Weber State, a Division I-AA team, plays in the Big Sky Conference.
Kealakehe's more heralded gridiron standout, running back Jinho Tohara, has not received an offer yet.
