Sykes leads Sea Warriors to home win

Dante Sykes scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help the Hawaii Pacific basketball team beat Saint Martin's 80-74 last night at Mid-Pacific gymnasium.

Sykes was all over the floor for the Sea Warriors (6-4), dishing out five assists and grabbing five steals. Finis Howell matched Sykes with 18 points and Gene Barnes contributed 17.

Niko Nunogawa led the Saints (4-6) with 19 points.

HPU takes on Brigham Young-Hawaii for the second time this season Saturday in Laie, when the Pacific West season has its first full slate of games. UH-Hilo hosts Montana State-Billings and Chaminade hosts Western New Mexico that day.
