forms for vets
Question: Is there a Web site where I can download various Department of Veterans Affairs forms so I don't have to make a trip every time I need one?
Answer: Electronic copies of VA, Veterans Benefits Administration, Veterans Health Administration and National Cemetery Administration forms are at www.va.gov/vaforms. The site can be searched using the form number, keywords or title. Links to other useful forms are also provided. VA has invested in technology that will allow forms to be filled and printed and eventually be electronically transmitted. Forms are always available at the VA Medical Center and the Honolulu VA office. Both are located adjacent to Tripler Army Medical Center. For additional information, contact the VA at 433-0600 or the Regional Office at 433-1000. See also http://www.va.gov.
Q: I am being called to active duty and have questions about my employer-provided pension and health benefits. Where can I get more information about my benefits?
A: The Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service has information for veterans, National Guard or reservists activated for military service. Guard and reserve members called to active duty, and their civilian employers, have rights and responsibilities under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. A fact sheet and an interactive computer program address these issues. These tools, and other USERRA information, are at www.dol.gov/vets
