can’t crack into top 10
It's not easy to break into the Star-Bulletin's top 10 girls basketball media poll.
Radford couldn't crack in despite an unbeaten mark in the Oahu Interscholastic Association West Division and an overtime victory over rival Pearl City last week.
Two 4-4 teams from the Interscholastic League of Honolulu -- Kamehameha and Maryknoll -- remained in the top 10.
The Warriors, ranked No. 7 last week, suffered an upset loss to Mid-Pacific on Saturday and tumbled to a tie at No. 9 with McKinley.
The up-and-coming Spartans won two games last week to get to .500 and move up two slots to No. 8.
The top six spots -- No. 1 Konawaena, followed in order by Kahuku, Punahou, Iolani, Kalaheo and Kaiser -- stayed the same.
Baldwin, unbeaten in the Maui Interscholastic League, moved up a notch to No. 7 by beating chief league contenders Lahainaluna and Maui.
Kaiser and Kalaheo square off in a big OIA East showdown tonight, a game that is sure to have top 10 implications.
