Star-Bulletin staff
People who want to fish for catfish in Nuuanu Reservoir have until Friday to apply for a drawing that will determine fishing times during weekends, beginning May 8.
Applications for entry fishing cards can be picked up at the Department of Land & Natural Resources permit counter at 1151 Punchbowl St., or call 587-0108 for other licensing agents on Oahu. Applications must be turned in by 4 p.m. Friday.
A drawing will assign each applicant a four-hour fishing period on a weekend day, either 7 to 11 a.m. or noon to 4 p.m. The bag limit per licensed angler is two channel catfish.
Fishing licenses are $3 for ages 15 and under, $5 for residents, $25 for nonresidents, $10 for seven-day tourists, $20 for 30-day tourists and no charge for seniors 65 and older. For more information, call 587-0100.
