A&B’s top execs
add Matson posts
Alexander and Baldwin Inc. Chairman Charles Stockholm has taken on the additional position of chairman of Matson Navigation Co., the parent company's ocean transportation subsidiary.
A&B said yesterday that Allen Doane, president and chief executive officer of the parent company, also was named vice chairman of Matson.
The appointments reflect the recent retirement of C. Bradley Mulholland, who had served as vice chairman of Matson. Doane had been Matson's chairman since 2002.
A&B reported on Thursday that revenue at Matson in 2003 exceeded $1 billion for the first time. The $1 billion figure combines revenue from Matson's ocean transportation operations and its wholly owned subsidiary, Matson Integrated Logistics.
Overall, the parent company said net income in the fourth quarter grew 8 percent and for the year rose 39.7 percent. Revenue was ahead 16.4 percent for the quarter and 13.3 percent for 2003.
