>> University of Hawaii Foundation has hired Lori Abe as associate vice president of marketing and communications. She will help market the foundation, including its alumni relations division, and provide overall strategic communications direction and planning. She was previously a public relations director for Aquent, a Boston-headquartered information technology and creative staffing and consulting agency.

BOARD

>> Laurie Ainslie, Deborah Baker and Greg Mooers have been appointed to the Hawaii Preparatory Academy board of governors. Ainslie will serve on the board's building and grounds, development and operations committees. She most recently served as the school's chief financial officer. Baker will serve on the development, governance and strategic planning committees. She is founder of Big Island advertising agency Current Events, which specializes in corporate and travel communications. Mooers will serve on the board's building and grounds, operations and strategic planning committees. He is president of Mooers Enterprises, which specializes in analyzing and implementing land use alternatives.

>> The Honolulu Board of Realtors has appointed the following officers for 2003-04: President-Elect Judith E. Kalbrener, RE/MAX Honolulu; Secretary Allison A.
