Sea Warriors win without setter

Mahea Rawlins dished out 23 assists in relief of starting setter Vera Oliveira as the Hawaii Pacific volleyball team beat UH-Hilo 30-28, 27-30, 30-21, 30-23 yesterday at St. Andrews Priory.

Oliveira has never missed a match in her two seasons at HPU (15-2, 6-0) but left in the second game with a leg injury after dishing out 25 assists. Oliveira's teammates rallied around her, with five players earning more than 10 kills.

Piikea Dudoit and Barbara Martin led with 13 kills apiece while Sara Pilgreen led the Vulcans (5-10, 2-3) with 17.
