UH-Hilo golf team finishes third

Led by Tysen Shinaut, the Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans golf team placed third in the 12-team Chico State Subway Invitational.

Shinaut finished with a 218, shooting rounds of 70, 75, and 73 to tie for 10th. Teammate Nick Mason shot a 219 over the three-day tournament to finish in a tie for 13th, and Colin Gilliam's 222 placed him 20th overall.

The Vulcans team total of 877 was behind only Cal State-Chico (856) and Cal State-Bakersfield (866).

BYU-Hawaii drops to No. 18

The Brigham Young-Hawaii men's water polo team fell three spots to No. 18 in the latest Collegiate Top 20 water polo rankings.

The Seasiders went 3-3 over the weekend on the mainland, running their record to 10-6 for the season. Their last two games of the regular season are at Chaminade, with the first game set for tomorrow at 7 p.m.
