LIGHTS TO REMEMBER THE FALLEN

Candles were raised in honor of fallen soldiers as helicopters flew a missing-man formation during yesterday's Vietnam Veterans Candlelight ceremony at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. The event brought together American and South Vietnamese prisoners of war to remember the 30th anniversary of the repatriation of American POWs and the 28th anniversary of the fall of Saigon.

About 2,000 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts decorated graves with flags and leis yesterday at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Among them was Dan Padua, of Boy Scout Troop 171 from Wahiawa, who placed a lei on the grave of an unknown soldier.
