Hawaii splits with Hilo
Kristine Kahoalii held Hawaii without a hit for five innings as the Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans split an exhibition doubleheader with the Wahine at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium yesterday.
Leo Sing Chow gave up one hit over the next two innings as the Vulcans beat the Wahine 2-0. Hawaii topped Hilo 5-1 in the nightcap behind a 2-run shot by April Crowell off Tara Martinez.
Paula Blanning and Melissa Coogan combined to hold down the Vulcans in the second game.
College golf workshop scheduled on Maui
A college workshop, featuring a panel of current and former Division I golfers and coaches, is set for March 16 at the Cameron Center Auditorium in Wailuku, Maui.The workshop is targeted for junior golfers and their parents and is sponsored by the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association.
The event runs from 10 a.m.-noon. The cost is free to HSJGA members and $5 for nonmembers.

Football coaches academy set
University of Hawaii quarterbacks coach Dan Morrison is among the guest speakers at the Adams Hawaii USA Coaching Academy, March 14-15, at the Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki.Other scheduled speakers are Tulane coach Chris Selfo, Hawaii football official George Gusman and Long Beach Poly coaches Jeff Turley and Raul Lara. HPU's Kusutani claims Women's 10K title
Hawaii Pacific runner Sayuri Kusutani won the Straub/Kapiolani Women's 10K race yesterday, finishing the 6.2-mile run in Waikiki n 36 minutes, 18 seconds.Kusutani beat Deidre Tennant by 15 seconds.
Park survives: At Los Angeles, Taeryong Park of Honolulu was Hawaii's first finisher in the Los Angeles Marathon yesterday, finishing in 3:31:54 for 680th overall. Howard Feldan of Honolulu finished in 3:33:57, 756th overall.
