Hockey exhibition
coming to Ice Palace


The NHL Alumni Association is bringing a team to play an exhibition game on Nov. 1 at the Ice Palace.

The former NHL players will face a team made up of Hawaiian Airlines pilots, who compete in a recreational league based in Seattle.

Expected to play for the Alumni are Bernie Nicholls, Joel Otto, Ian Turnbull, Ron Duguay and Gary Nyland, among others.

The game will be played to promote hockey in Hawaii and support the local youth programs.

Game time will be 7 p.m.

Metzger and Wong to play at Queen's

AVP touring pros Kevin Wong and Stein Metzger will compete in the summer's final event today at the Riggers Beach Volleyball Classic at Queen's Beach.

Other players with Hawaii ties scheduled to participate include Scott Wong, Tory Tukuafu and Alike Williams.

Action in the men's and women's open division runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow.

The women's final is slated for 3 p.m. tomorrow with the men's final to follow at 4.
