Seasiders waiting for duel top rankings

The Brigham University-Hawaii tennis teams both swept Armstrong Atlantic yesterday, with the men winning 5-0 and the women winning 5-1 in Pensacola, Fla.

Both teams are undefeated this season, with the men No. 1 at 20-0 and the women No. 2 at 19-0.

The women's ranking may change though, as Armstrong Atlantic went into the match No. 1 before being taken apart by BYUH.

"The girls in their hearts believed that it (No. 1) was just another number," BYUH coach David Porter said. "It does signify that we are back, but it's not now that counts, it is just to get us ready for the tournament. They know that."

The men also won in their usual dominating fashion, capturing all three doubles and not losing a single set in singles. Peter Madarassy was the most impressive, sweeping Dale White 6-0, 6-0.

Both teams play Ouachita Baptist tomorrow before returning home to take on Chaminade in the regular-season finale Wednesday.

Sea Warriors sweep doubles: The Hawaii Pacific women's tennis team beat UC Davis 7-2 yesterday.

They swept the three doubles matches and won four of the six singles.
