The Radford tournament starts with Leilehua facing Sacred Hearts at 3:30 p.m. Roosevelt meets Maryknoll at 5. Radford takes on Maui at 6:30, and Kalani plays Punahou (Division II) at 8.
The tournament continues Friday with consolation and semifinal games. The championship game is 6 p.m. Saturday and will be preceded by the seventh-place game (1:30 p.m.), consolation championship (3) and third-place game (4:30).
The McKinley tournament is an eight-team event featuring teams from all five of the state's high school leagues.
Following is the tournament schedule.
>> Tomorrow: Punahou vs. Baldwin, 4 p.m.; Kalaheo vs. Kapaa, 5:30; Kamehameha vs. Waiakea, 7; McKinley vs. Konawaena, 8:30.
>> Friday: Kalaheo vs. Konawaena, 4 p.m.; Kamehameha vs. Baldwin, 5:30; Punahou vs. Waiakea, 7; McKinley vs. Kapaa, 8:30.
>> Saturday: McKinley vs. Kamehameha (junior varsity), 10 a.m.; Kamehameha vs. Kapaa, 11:30; Punahou vs. Konawaena, 1 p.m.; Kalaheo vs. Waiakea, 2:30; McKinley vs. Baldwin, 4.
ILH pulling away: Interscholastic League of Honolulu teams won seven state championships during the winter season to raise the league's total to 13 this school year.
The ILH added titles in softball (Kamehameha), basketball (Iolani), boys paddling (Punahou), girls paddling (Kamehameha), cheerleading (Kamehameha), boys swimming (Iolani) and boys wrestling (St. Louis).
The Oahu Interscholastic Association is next with seven championships after picking up championships in boys and girls soccer (Mililani), girls wrestling (Kahuku) and cheerleading (Aiea) this winter.
The Big Island Interscholastic Federation and Maui Interscholastic League have one championship each.
State titles in golf, tennis, girls basketball, baseball and track and field will be decided in May.
Poll positions: The Mililani soccer teams earned places in the national rankings after capturing the boys and girls state championships last month.
The Mililani boys are ranked 21st in the Student Sports Fab 50 and are rated 10th in the West region. The Trojans finished the season at 14-0-1.
The Mililani girls team went 13-0-2 and is listed in the second 25 of the Fab 50 and is ranked 15th in the region.
Moving on up: With spring training in full swing, several former Hawaii standouts are hoping to work their way up Major League Baseball organizations.
Baseball America recently released its list of the top 10 prospects in each organization with five local products earning mentions.
Three pitchers lead the Hawaii group. Jerome Williams (Waipahu) is rated the San Francisco Giants' top prospect and is ranked 19th among the top 100 prospects overall. Justin Wayne (Punahou/Stanford) is the sixth best player in the Montreal Expos farm system. Brandon League (St. Louis) is rated seventh in the Toronto Blue Jays' system.
Former Kamehameha shortstop Bronson Sardinha is 10th among New York Yankees prospects. His brother, Dane Sardinha (Kamehameha/Pepperdine), is rated ninth in the Cincinnati Reds organization as a catcher.
