Kaio keeps sole lead at 10-0

OSAKA, Japan (AP) - Kaio threw out fellow ozeki (champion) Miyabiyama on Tuesday to remain alone atop the field at 10-0 after the tenth day of the 15-day Spring Grand Sumo Tournament.

Yokozuna (grand champion) Takanohana and No. 10 maegashira (senior wrestler) Tamanoshima stayed close behind at 9-1.

They were followed by yokozuna Musashimaru - Hawaiian-born Fiamalu Penitani - and ozeki Musoyama, who moved to 8-2.

Wrestling in front of a capacity crowd of 8,000 at the Osaka Prefectural (state) Gymnasium in western Japan, Kaio used an arm grab to dispatch Miyabiyama (5-5) and move one win closer to his second-ever tournament victory.

Takanohana made quick work of Takanowaka after getting hold of his belt, handing the No. 4 maegashira his fifth defeat against five victories.

In the day's final bout, Musashimaru and No. 4 maegashira Tokitsuumi were locked in a mid-ring test of strength until the powerful Hawaiian pulled down his smaller opponent. Tokitsuumi fell to 4-6.
