THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF
HAWAIIAN LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE

Portland ohana

So many Hawaii police officers have moved to the soggy Northwest
that they've formed their own hui, Northwest Maka'i Ohana. Malcolm
Chang photographed Noho Marchesi (second from left), owner of
Noho's Hawaiian Cafe in Portland, with fellow officers Jeff Kuni
(far left), Tony Santos and Carl Jaber.
Noho has five cafes in the area.
The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life in the Universe is just that -- we're looking for evidence of Hawaiiana everywhere but Hawaii.
