Valiant Firefighters

Six firefighters received the Honolulu Fire Department's first
Medal of Valor awards yesterday. From left, David H. Yoshida,
Joseph B. Lapinad, Keith T. Kanno and Aaron K. Akiona received
gold medals for their bravery during the April 1 Interstate Building
fire. Thomas L. Akana and Henry A. Kuhns IV received bronze
medals for their courage during a robbery in front
of the Pawaa Fire Station on July 24.
