Itula Mili was back in the starting lineup as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Chicago Bears, 14-13, yesterday at Soldier Field.

Mili, who played for Kahuku during his prep career, was nudged out of Seattle's starting lineup last week in a 28-20 loss to Detroit when Christian Fauria came back from an injury.

Mili caught one pass for four yards yesterday. He fumbled on the play.

On the other side of the ball, former St. Louis standout Olin Kreutz started again for the Bears.

But unlike last week, when the Chicago offensive line allowed no sacks against the Kansas City Chiefs, Kreutz's line was penetrated for three sacks this time.

The Bears' line did give quarterbacks Shane Matthews and Cade McNown enough time to pass for 322 yards.

In other games involving players with Hawaii ties:

Bullet Chris Naeole (Kahuku) started his 18th consecutive game at right guard for the New Orleans Saints.
But the Saints lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 28-21, at 3Com Park.
Ink Aleaga (Pac-Five) subbed at linebacker for New Orleans but did not have a tackle.
Bullet In Arizona's 19-16 loss to Miami, former Leilehua star Adrian Murrell rushed 20 times for 59 yards and caught two passes for nine yards.
Bullet In the Denver Broncos' 26-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, defensive end Ma'a Tanuvasa (Mililani) had two solo tackles for the defending Super Bowl champions, while Jason Elam (former Rainbows kicker) moved within six points of Denver's all-time scoring record. Jim Turner (742 points) now holds that record.
Elam opened the scoring in the game with a 50-yard field goal, his first of the regular season.
Bullet In Cincinnati's 34-7 loss to San Diego, Molokai's Kimo von Oelhoffen made his second straight regular-season appearance as a sub at nose tackle.
Saddled with an injury through the late part of training camp, von Oelhoffen seems to have lost his starting job for the time being to Oliver Gibson. Gibson backed up Joel Steed at Pittsburgh last season.
Bullet In the Carolina Panthers' 22-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, defensive tackle Esera Tuaolo (Waimanalo) had an assisted tackle late in the third quarter.
