run to winsMcCombs covered the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 15 minutes, edging Frank Curiel, who finished in 1:16:47.
Baginski had an easier time of it, winning in 1:27:50, to Connie Comiso-Fanelli's 1:32:06.
Gary Nettles won the men's 5K race in 17 minutes, 14 seconds. Kari Tanimoto was the first 5K woman in 22:07.
Hamada wins Gold Cup race
Kari Lynn Hamada drove her 1988 Camaro Z-28 to victory in the Super Comp class during Saturday night's Budweiser Gold Cup shootout at Hawaii Raceway Park.The 31 year-old Waimanalo racer beat Waipahu's Alfred Maglangit and his flamed Chevy dragster in the final round.
Wong on second-place team
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. - Kevin Wong of Honolulu teamed with Carl Henkel to finish second to Karch Kiraly and Adam Johnson at the $200,000 Oldsmobile Alero Beach Volleyball Series yesterday.Kiraly and Johnson beat Henkel and Wong, 15-9.
Tanoue and Kimura advance
Shawn Tanoue and Paul Kimura, medalists during qualifying for the Francis Brown Four-Ball Match Play Championships at Ted Makalena Golf Course, won their first-round match yesterday, 2-1, over Eric Yu and Richard Teruya.
UH basketball camp
Hawaii men's basketball coach Riley Wallace and his staff will conduct their summer basketball camp from June 10-16 at the Stan Sheriff Center and Klum Gym.The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5 through 17. Tuition for the camp is $150. All applications and payments must be made by May 27.
Session 1 will run from June 10-12 and focus on individual skills development. Session 2 will run from June 14-16 and center on team skills.

Kukea Ironman Challenge set
The fourth annual Kala Kukea Ironman Challenge is scheduled for Sunday at Maunalua Bay.The event features one- and six-man canoe races, surfski races and age-group paddling. The fee is $10 per age-group paddler and $15 for adult.
The short course is 1.5 miles and the long course is nine miles. The first race will start at 8 a.m. The races are a fund-raiser for Hui Nalu Canoe Club. Call Michelle at 396-5701.
