Mililani alumnus Kim helps Bowling Green's rebuilding effort
Justin Kim (Mililani '03) was the second-leading scorer for the Bowling Green State Falcons who struggled through a 4-13-2 season. He was one of 10 freshman recruited by coach Fred Thompson to rebuild the program.
The freshman midfielder started 17 of 18 matches, scored twice on 33 shots and assisted on four goals.
Junior midfielders Brandon Tario (Kamehameha '03) and Scott Shiraishi (Iolani '03) helped the UC Irvine Anteaters rebound from two consecutive losing seasons and finish third in the Big West Conference.
Tario had three assists in 17 matches.
Shiraishi had two starts in eight appearances. His one assist came on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 upset of No. 11 Cal State Northridge on Nov. 9.
Annie Tom, a junior striker from Mililani, started 14 of 20 matches for the Boise State Broncos. She had three assists, but came up empty in the scoring department despite putting 11 of 21 shots on goal.
Teammate Allison Tsuchida started all 20 matches for the 10-8-2 Broncos. The sophomore defender from Punahou did not score with her nine shots, but had one assist.
Satoshi Mitsuda (Punahou '03) saw action in 11 matches for the 5-9-2 Boston College Eagles. The sophomore midfielder assisted on two goals and took one shot that was saved.
Christian Marston's one goal for the 9-7-2 Vanguard Lions was a game winner. The junior midfielder from Kapaa started 15 of 17 matches.
Michael Kanemori (Iolani), a sophomore midfielder, appeared in five matches for the 7-7-2 NCAA Division III Beloit (Wis.) Buccaneers. His only shot was on goal but did not find the net.
Erin Nakasone recorded one assist in 13 matches for NCAA Division III Whitworth.
