The rockers hit
the rollers while
vacationing in Hawaii

Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne caught a few waves while in town for Saturday's Kokua Festival. He and bodysurfer and retired lifeguard Mark Cunningham surfed the North Shore's Laniakea break Friday . ... Jimmy Buffett arrived Sunday, piloting his $10-million-plus Falcon jet from California for tonight's Waikiki Shell concert. What does he do after checking into his hotel? Hit the beach, of course! Buffett then dropped by Duke's Canoe Club for dinner and sang "Margaritaville" with Henry Kapono. Concert promoter Tom Moffatt said Kapono will return the favor at Buffett's concert tonight. Kapono appears on and sings two songs on Buffett's new DVD/CD combo "Live in Hawaii: Jimmy Buffett." ... Tiare Kehaulani Smits, who played Miss Adelaide, did a great job as a New York showgirl in Castle Performing Arts Center's production of "Guys & Dolls" Saturday. ... Craig Shoji (no relation to UH wahine volleyball coach Dave Shoji) started the company in January. He can be reached at 216-1272 or waxhandunion@hawaii.rr. com. ... The show didn't end when the last model left the stage. Co-host Linda Coble -- talking about trips to Paris with her sister, Dior regional manager Cammy Maheras -- sent hubby and co-host Kirk Matthews down the runway to demonstrate the Paris models' demeanor. He did so with plenty of sass and attitude, drawing much laughter ... Speaking of Dior, the boutique celebrated its grand re-opening at Ala Moana Center yesterday ... Also at Ala Moana, Aveda Salon & Spa is hosting Earth Night 2005 from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. For a $50 donation to the Hawaii Nature Center, donors get a ticket into a mini salon and spa, can participate in aroma-ology or reflexology workshops, have make-up or hair consultations, get a plant-based temporary tattoo or participate in a silent auction, while enjoying entertainment and pupu. Call 947-6141 for information. ...
