Maui pineapples
will rock the boat

A whole lot of Maui pineapple is going to be fed to passengers aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's Hawaii cruises.

The cruise company will pick more than a peck of pineapples after entering into a deal with Maui Pineapple Co. to buy about 160,000 pounds of the fruit each year.

In addition to Maui Pineapple's trademarked Hawaiian Gold Extra Sweet Pineapples, the cruise line has a deal to use Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co.'s. Maui Brand Natural Cane Sugar and other agreements to purchase broccoli, romaine lettuce, cabbage, squash and green beans from the Maui Farmers Cooperative Exchange.

Maternity store reborn

Maternity and baby store Makana Mother & Baby has a new mommy and a new home at the Kahala Atrium Center on the corner of Waialae and Kilauea avenues. It will fling open its doors 10 a.m. Saturday to a full schedule of grand reopening activities. The retailer relocated from Ward Centre. Guests will include a childbirth educator, day-care provider organization, early-childhood education center and several other agencies and organizations.
