Seasiders creep closer to Hilo

Michael Stowell scored 22 points and the Brigham Young-Hawaii basketball team destroyed Western New Mexico 94-63 last night in Laie.

The win moved the Seasiders (13-7, 8-3 PacWest) within a game of first-place UH-Hilo in the conference with four to play. The Mustangs dropped to 6-17, 1-11.

» At the Blaisdell Arena, Cameron Munoz drilled a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left to give Montana State-Billings a 92-90 win over Hawaii Pacific.

$3,000 prize available in Fitness Challenge

Fit for Life's Eric Okamura is offering $3,000 to the person who can complete 10 squats, 10 push-ups, 10 bent-knee situps and 20 jumping jacks the fastest.

Registration costs $10, $5 for military, and qualifying is held this weekend at the Great Aloha Run Fitness Expo at the Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. To qualify, athletes must complete all exercises in 38 seconds, but can make as many attempts as they wish. The finals will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. To register, contact Fit for Life at 535-1550.
