Rainbow Wahine softball opens against alumnae

The defending Western Athletic Conference champion Hawaii softball team will open its season Saturday against its alumnae squad. The game starts at 5 p.m. at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Admission is free to the public and parking is $3.

Wahine softball coach Bob Coolen, the 2003 WAC Coach of the Year, has his entire pitching staff back along with six starters from a team that won 40 games last year.

The official season begins Feb. 4-8 when Hawaii hosts BYU in the opening night of the Hawaii Paradise Classic.
