for a nice pricePerhaps you've seen him on "Leeza," "Sally Jesse Raphael," "The O'Reilly Factor" or MSNBC. Rod Barnett, originator of 10k4awife.com, says he will pay you $10,000 if you introduce him to the woman he will propose to. That's right, 10 grand. And she doesn't even have to say yes.
Conniving, money-grubbing vixens, however, need not apply. If you somehow dupe this Internet eligible into proposing to you, you won't get the money. Instead, Barnett will donate the money to charity. And just so there is no misunderstanding, Barnett assures his readers he is not desperate, nor is he trying to buy love. "I am simply trying to give people that know someone that may be compatible with me some encouragement to contact me," he writes on 10k4awife.com.
So just who is this Rod Barnett character? "I'm a never-married, 39-year-old, very monogamous Virgo, 6' tall," reads his online profile. "I have green eyes, am dark-complected (German, Indian & Irish), 215 lbs., broad-shouldered, and reasonably muscular. I would consider myself a white-collar entrepreneur, very health-conscious, optimistic, very open-minded, non-judgmental, down-to-earth, environmentally conscious, family-oriented and outgoing."
He goes on to describe himself as "a closet Oprah fan" who "loves to go shopping at Wal-Mart holding hands with my sweetie." Barnett also loves animals, yoga, computers, karaoke country music and light rock, and has taken a keen interest in psychology, cooking and motorcross.
"The woman I marry will be seeking a best friend and partner in life," he adds. "She will be very genuine with her feelings. What she wants in life will be very clear to her. There will be an air of confidence about her. She should be secure, non-judgmental, very affectionate, very down-to-earth, love nature and animals and she should consider herself an open book. She should also have a good imagination and believe anything is possible if she wants it bad enough."
Barnett also goes on to say he is attracted to dark-haired, nonsmoking women, in good shape, between 24 and 35 years of age, 5'4" or taller. On his contact info page, he asks those interested to drop him a line via e-mail or snail mail and to include a photo. "Remember, you have nothing to lose and someone to gain. It doesn't matter how we meet, only that we do," he concludes. "These are my dreams and I believe I can make them come true."
