ARTISTS AT WORK: Walfredo, left, painted while Makana played at a combination CD release party and 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Wyland Galleries in Kalakaua Center on Sunday. The heavy afternoon rain didn't spoil the party as Makana entertained the crowd with an intimate living room-style concert that showcased songs from his impressive new album, "Ki Ho'alu."

ENJOYING THE MUSIC: Evan Tector of Makana Music, left, enjoyed the Sunday afternoon party with Mark J. Hanna, director of the Wyland Kalakaua Center Waikiki gallery. Wyland, who was celebrating his galleries' 25th anniversary and the publication of a new book, "Wyland, Artist of the Sea," left early to pick up Henry Kapono.

PARTY AT DON'S!: Dick Jensen, left, celebrated with Augie Rey at the release party for Rey's new album, "This Is My Paradise," at Don Ho's on Tuesday. Al Waterson's whimsical rendition of "The Lady Is A Tramp" was the comic highlight.
