Foyle joins Savo in Nuggets camp

Brigham Young-Hawaii product Alexus Foyle is one of 35 players on the Denver Nuggets' summer roster, working out with former Hawaii player Predrag Savovic.

The players participated in a camp yesterday and hope to stick around for the weekend. The Nuggets will cut the list today and need to get down to 14 players for their summer leagues by Sunday. The final team will compete in the Los Angeles Summer League on July 13-17 and the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City on July 19-26.

Making the cut will be tougher for Foyle than Savovic, as the Hawaii product is one of nine current Nuggets -- including first-round pick Carmello Anthony -- in camp and expecting to be on the summer league teams. That leaves 10 players to fight over the final five spots.

Pyewacket leads Pegasus in Transpac

LOS ANGELES >> Roy E. Disney's Pyewacket leads rival Pegasus by 11 miles after the second day of sailing in the 42nd Transpacific Yacht Race.

Phillippe Kahn, skipper of the Pegasus, is not worried, though. He reported on his Web site that his boat intentionally took a different rout and sailed two more miles than his heralded counterpart.

Kahn decided to shift his rout to the south, where he expects more wind over the next 24 hours.
