Homeless murderer
gets life in prison

Star-Bulletin staff

LIHUE >> William McCrory has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole for the stabbing death of Brent "Kerby" Kerr on Oct. 25.

Police said McCrory and Kerr were homeless alcoholics, and apparently Kerr refused to share a bottle of vodka he had shoplifted earlier in the day.

Kerr was stabbed near Nawiliwili Harbor, and his body was dumped in front of the closed Coco Palms Resort. The sentence was handed down Thursday by Circuit Judge Clifford Nakea, who presided over McCrory's jury trial in July.
