Football fans who vote,
take note

"Serious" journalists statewide are wringing their hands over the decision by KGMB to telecast high school football games instead of wall-to-wall coverage of today's primary elections.

These people need to get a life. The only number that really matters in an election is the final tally. For those who need preliminary results, KGMB has promised to give updates during the game. You'll get live football and election results when they are pertinent. They'll pick up live election coverage after the games, about the time final poll results are handed out. That's more journalism, not less.

Other than the logistics of getting people to their spots on time, election night coverage isn't as tough as broadcast news departments let on. The state hands you the results and you turn around and tell people what the results are. That's a no-brainer.
