Gowdy is UH’s
best in Rainbow
Diving Invitational

Hawaii sophomore Mike Gowdy made sure the Rainbow Diving Invitational ended with a splash, winning the three-meter competition and placing second in the one-meter dive with a score of 332.4.

Gowdy was under little pressure though, having already qualified for the NCAA Zone E championships at Stanford University in March.

Jon Coyle, another sophomore, returned to the team after a semester off, taking sixth in the one-meter dive with a score of 276.5.

Coyle was cleared to compete the morning of the event.

Seniors Sarah Shepard and Jenalin Miller were Hawaii's next best divers, with Shepard finishing 13th and Miller taking 17th in the three-meter dive.

The UH men's swimming and diving teams will take on UNLV and Minnesota at noon Saturday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
