PROMOTIONS

>> Richard S. Bliss has been named vice president for Hawaii and Guam at Matson Navigation Company Inc. Bliss served as vice president and area manager in Seattle and Guam for the company before transferring to Hawaii. He has been with Matson for almost 40 years. Bliss succeeds Branton B. "Bal" Dreyfus, who transferred to San Francisco to work on special projects for Matson.

>> Edward Saunders has been promoted to manager of the Pagoda Hotel. He joined the Pagoda in 1985 as a bellman. Saunders most recently was front office and maintenance manager at the hotel.

ON THE BOARD

>> Eric Carson was named to the board of directors of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at its annual convention last month in Atlanta. Carson is president and CEO of Reflections Glass Co. He also owns Diamon-Fusion, a hydrophobic molecular coating company servicing the Hawaiian Islands, and WrightBuy.Co, which services the furniture industry with represented manufacturers in China, Indonesia, New Zealand and the Philippines. The USHCC represents 250 hispanic chambers of commerce and the 1.4 million hispanic businesses in United States and Puerto Rico.
