Mary Bea Porter-King of Kauai has been awarded the 2000 Budget Service Award by the LPGA for her efforts in promoting junior golf in Hawaii.

"I am so honored to receive this award and to be recognized in my profession," said Porter-King, an LPGA member since 1973.
President of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association since its inception two years ago, she recently was named as one of three new members to the USGA executive committee.

The six-hole event will be held Jan. 16 at the Waialae Country Club during the week of the $4 million Sony Open.
