Seasiders’ season ends
in disappointing fashion

SEATTLE - There will be no chance for redemption for the BYU-Hawaii men's basketball team.

The Seasiders were eliminated from the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament by UC Davis, 60-53, in a first-round game last night.

"I'm disappointed for my guys that it ended like that,'' said Seasider coach Ken Wagner, whose team ended its season with two straight losses. "I felt we were better. We executed well, but just weren't able to get over the hump and finish them off."

BYUH, which lived on its 3-point shooting all season, went cold from the outside. The Seasiders were 0-for-8 in the first half from 3-point range and fell behind, 26-24, at halftime.

"We've been a perimeter team all season,'' said Wagner. "You don't change your style for one game. We just didn't hit the shots.''

David Evans capped his brilliant career with a game-high 19 points. Jason Cox led the Aggies with 18.
