To Freelancers
We would like to have the option of including all local stories and pictures from the print edition online. A good online edition builds readership and interest in the newspaper and a healthy newspaper can continue to purchase your work.
Due to the June 25, 2001, ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in the New York Times vs. Tasini case, we need to confirm with all our freelance contributors that we can include your articles and photos in the online edition of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, and that the purchase of your material includes both print and online publication rights. Until we get your confirmation, we will have to exclude your work from starbulletin.com.
The fastest way for you to do this is to download and print out our RELEASE FORM*, which must be signed and mailed back to us. You may also fax the signed form to (808) 529-4750, attention Webmaster.
We regret the inconvenience this poses, and thank you for your trouble.
(*If you don't have the Adobe PDF Reader software needed to do this, you can download it for free from Adobe.)
