State jobless rate fell to 7 percent in July

Hawaii's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell three-tenths of a percentage point to 7.0 percent in July, its lowest level in three months, according to data released today by the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
State jobless numbers had soared to a more-than-31-year high of 7.4 percent in May and was 7.3 percent in June — revised lower from the originally announced number of 7.4 percent. The unemployment rate in April was 6.9 percent
Nationally, the unemployment rate for July was 9.4 percent.
