After their discovery four thousand years ago diamonds were believed to be fragments of stars so it’s no surprise that Robert Palma, one of Hawaii’s most reputable jewelers, found his beginning walking on the beach one night looking up at those diamonds in the sky.  In this video clip we had an opportuniity to chat with Robert in his office high up on the 37th floor of Century Center.

While Robert has been in the business for 29 years  Kim was surprised to find that he had intended on studying pharmacology with a scholarship that would have helped him through school.  When asked why he made the detour, Robert said, “Pharmacology is actually about people coming to you when they are sick and depressed where jewelry and designing jewelry (is about) people coming to you when they are in love and happy, hopefully.”
