Police captured today a 36-year-old man who escaped from the Hawaii State Hospital in Kaneohe and is considered dangerous.

Casey Nies had escaped at 9 a.m. yesterday.

Police received tips on Nies’ whereabouts, and officers arrested him at a Kaneohe bus stop at 2:30 p.m. today.

Nies was criminally committed to the hospital and is considered dangerous, police said.

Nies was booked at the Kaneohe station and returned to the state hospital.
