President Barack Obama is phoning home.

Obama tells Hawaii voters in a recorded telephone message to support a Democrat in this month's congressional election in the urban Honolulu district where he was born.

Obama's 40-second recorded telephone message (listen to it here) was released today by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Two Democrats, former U.S. Rep. Ed Case and state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, are running against Republican Honolulu Councilman Charles Djou in this month's winner-take-all special election.

Obama says he needs a Democrat to support his agenda of holding Wall Street and special interests accountable.

He tells Honolulu voters to fill out their mail-in ballots and send them back immediately.
